March 21, 2008 - Hardware Purchases
There have been changes in the way to order new computers on campus for CAS departments. Presently, all purchases should be delivered to the name of the faculty/staff receiving the computer care of CAS Computing followed by our delivery address.
Some vendors will require you to choose an 'inside delivery' option for some larger purchases which may result in a fee. You can find our mailing address at the bottom of the page.

January 22, 2008 - Server Alert & Email Phishing
- CAS Computing experienced server issues Monday (1/21) night causing a disruption in services through Tuesday morning. The issue is being looked into and corrected. All systems should report operational late-morning today.
- An old phishing email scam has resurfaced and has been noticed on campus. It begins with the lines:
Dear albany.edu Subscriber,
To complete your albany.edu account, you must reply to this email
immediately and enter your password here (*********)...
This is not an official University at Albany email. In no circumstances would the University ask for your password via email, nor should anyone ever email their password. ITS has blocked the Reply To: address in order to prevent anyone from replying to this scam. If you see this email in your Inbox, please delete it.
November 13, 2007 - CAS Computing Website Updates
CAS Computing is undergoing a website renovation to better serve the College.

February 8th, 2007 - CAS Computing is Moving
CAS Computing will be moving to SB32 (formerly Creative Services) on February 8th. Since we will be busy with the move, please try to schedule any computer assistance you need before February 5th or after February 7th. Of course, we will be available for emergencies. If you are not familiar with the sub-basement, here is a map. During the construction, the door to SB-32 was moved down the hall quite a bit but this gives a good approximation of our new location. Please come and visit!!
